America’s SBDC Board

Sharon Nichols, State Director of the Mississippi SBDC Network, has been elected to the board of America’s SBDC, the national association representing Small Business Development Centers. Nichols, who has led the Mississippi SBDC Network since 2018, was selected during the organization’s national training conference in Orlando and will help shape strategies to strengthen small businesses nationwide. Under her leadership, the Mississippi SBDC Network has become a critical resource for business advising, innovation, and economic growth across all 82 Mississippi counties.

Six Tech Companies at

National Innovation Showcase

Mississippi technology companies earned national visibility at a premier defense innovation event, where they pitched emerging solutions to federal tech scouts and industry leaders. Supported by the Mississippi SBDC Network’s RISE Center at Ole Miss, firms such as Camgian, Hyperion, Medina Doyle, Mythos AI, V2 Forensics, and Vertecore demonstrated the state’s growing strength in defense-focused innovation. Mississippi SBDC Network Partners with

Innovate Mississippi

with the Accelerate Conference

For the first time, the Mississippi SBDC Network partnered with Innovate Mississippi in November to convene both technology-driven and main-street entrepreneurs at the Accelerate Conference, offering dual tracks designed to connect participants directly into Mississippi’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Named 2025 SBA Small Business Person of the Year

Kittrell Industrial and Supply was named Mississippi’s 2025 Small Business Persons of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration, recognizing the company’s growth and contributions to the state’s economy. The Mississippi SBDC Network was proud to be among the partners supporting the business and to nominate the owners for this statewide honor, which also placed them in contention for national recognition during National Small Business Week.
